To see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.

To lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.

Laughter, Night Hikes, and Serving Together

My time with FCA has spanned decades, and it has been a gift. I’ve been part of huddles in San Diego, Santa Barbara, and now Spokane, Washington. The common thread has been being around young men and women whose hearts are turned toward the Father. It’s incredible to watch God work in us and through us, especially through sports.

One of my favorite Santa Barbara memories is a day at the beach filled with ridiculous challenges. I remember flowers being involved, trying to get a watermelon to the water, and someone having to eat it. I was racing 20-year-olds through the sand and hoping I wouldn’t pull anything. The laughter, joy, and conversations were all centered on Jesus. It was such a gift.

I also remember night hikes in the Santa Barbara mountains with the UCSB huddle. And I remember packing lunch bags with In-N-Out food to share with people who were hungry in Santa Barbara. Those moments were different from one another, but both gave us a chance to serve and be together.

I’m grateful for the many years and memories. FCA gives people from different generations and walks of life a way to come together, serve the Lord, honor Him, and love others.
